The
production section is made up of three segments, namely the
press, binding, and despatch. This is what GPO is all about
and for that matter we have installed in placed, the latest
in the state of the art technology to ensure our products is
of high quality and is in high demand to specifically meet the
need and expectation of our valuable clients.
All printing is done here through a Heidelberg
PM 52 â two colour press. This is the best technology available
and it is suited our conditions well. This press has a production
rate of 13000 impression per hour, doubled that of our old equipment.
Whilst it is designed to print two colours simultaneously, we
are capable of producing a high quality, full colour printing
on this press when the need arises.

This is where the final touch is applied to the product. In
here there are three different machines being installed and
they all performed different functions to each otherâs. A Polar
Automatic Guillotine is specifically used to cater for all proper
cutting and trimming needs. This guillotine is also a state
of art technology and has features such as a touch screen and
a vast programming capability with memory for repeat specifications.
The next is a high stahl High speed-folding machine, which is
ideally suited to our production needs. Ti is a versatile machine
that has several configurations to suit the requirements of
brochures, books and reports. The third machine in used is an
Italian Euro binder. It is a machine design for book binding
with or without inserting a cover and inserting hot glue to
the spine. This is the only service of its kind in PNG. Using
the fast binding service clients can now have personalised covers
either in soft binding or in case bond. Whilst this service
is attractive to committees, delegations, forums, and university
of PNG, we also intend to work with the National Parliament
in an effort to bring up to date. The consolidated Hansard.
